Owner & Dance Instructor
Our dance program provides children with a strong foundation in dance movement. We teach each of the dancers the elements of movement and dance, integrated with the physical concepts and the intellectual concepts of self-awareness, creative expression, imagination, teamwork and basic body/health awareness.
Through participation in these classes, students also learn classroom manners. These concepts include learning how to take turns, following another dancer or leading the way, waiting patiently, working together with others, and having a positive attitude.
Sherri’s School of Dance teaches the concepts of movement and sequencing, patterning, the eight basic locomotive movements, a dancer's vocabulary and more.
Artistic Director & Dance Instructor
With sweet southern charm and big city smarts, Kesha Nichols is a small town girl who can make any place feel like home. Born and raised in Drexel, North Carolina, Kesha discovered her passion for dance and the arts at Sherri’s School of Dance, where she trained for 14 years. She went on to receive a B.A. in Dance Education from Columbia College in South Carolina, became a dance specialist for the Gifted and Talented Dance Program at Dreher High School, and ultimately decided to make the big move to New York City to pursue her dreams in dance and entertainment. Soon after arriving in the Big Apple, Kesha booked a highly competitive spot as an NBA dancer, signed with top dance agency, Bloc NY, and has been featured in many film, television, and stage productions. Simultaneously, Kesha established her own dance entertainment company, Sugar & Spice Productions, through which she produces a variety of featured entertainment, live shows, and interactive productions, from music videos to celebrity and corporate events.
Kesha’s experience as a cast member on VH1’s most popular reality show, Basketball Wives, ignited a passion for bringing awareness to the bullying epidemic that is a daily struggle for many individuals from different walks of life. Kesha is an advocate for anti-bullying and a motivational and keynote speaker for public schools, universities, and private organizations.
After more than a decade of living in NYC, Kesha felt the pull to move back home to North Carolina to reconnect with her family and give back to her community. She serves on numerous non-profit boards and community groups with a purpose to motivate and empower our next generation’s leaders. Kesha is also President of Jaime Torres Ministries, a faith-based non-profit organization whose mission is to restore families through community outreach, impactful mentorship, and supportive aftercare. She knows that all things are possible through the love of Jesus Christ.
Kesha honors her roots with her clothing line, Southern Girl Swag, made specifically for women and girls who love to represent the South. Southern Girl Swag is currently sold online and in America’s largest farm and home department store, Rural King.
Most recently, Kesha decided to bring her love of dance and entertainment down South. She created a southern branch of her dance company, Sugar & Spice Productions and will be providing dance entertainment for private parties and events throughout the southeast. She is also going to take on the roll of Artistic Director and Dance Instructor for Sherri’s School of Dance, starting next fall. It is an honor for Kesha to give the gift of dance to the aspiring dancers in her hometown community and she is excited and hopeful for this next chapter in her life.
